Ukrainian air defence system on par with US Patriot introduced by Ukraine’s commander-in-chief

Ukraine is creating its personal air defence system with capabilities equal to the American Patriot system, Ukrainian Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi has stated.

Supply: Syrskyi in an interview with Ukrainian TV channel TSN which aired on the night of 19 January

Particulars: The interviewer talked about that if Ukraine had had ample Patriot ammunition, it may have defended the Trypillia Thermal Energy Plant from the Russian assault, and expressed the hope that Ukraine's allies will "show themselves as true allies".

Quote from Syrskyi: "I agree with you on one hand. However, that in Soviet occasions, we [Ukraine – ed.] successfully manufactured all of the controllers for anti-aircraft missile programs. So now we have the capability and the power to create [such systems – ed.], and work is underway to develop our personal home air defence system."

Particulars: Requested whether or not this implies Ukraine may produce its personal equal of the Patriot system, Syrskyi replied: "I hope it will likely be comparable in efficiency to the Patriot."
