Kyrylo Budanov, Head of Defence Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU), has acknowledged in an interview that the Russians began destabilising the political scenario in Ukraine as early as autumn 2023 and proceed to take action.

Quote from Budanov: "There are lots of elements influencing this [the destabilisation of the political situation in Ukraine – ed.], however this systematic work started in autumn 2023, aimed particularly at sowing mistrust within the authorities. This began in mid-2023."
