Poland launches navy operation after provocations by Russian warplanes over the Baltic

Polish Defence Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz has introduced the launch of a brand new navy operation to strengthen safety and management over the airspace within the Baltic area, given provocations by Russia.

Particulars: Through the ceremony of conferring normal ranks on Friday, Kosiniak-Kamysz famous that in response to incidents involving Russian plane within the Baltic area, the Polish Armed Forces launched a brand new operation.

The operation, which started this week, has deployed extra planes and helicopters to patrol Polish airspace within the north.

PAP, citing unofficial data, says the operation includes, amongst different issues, the switch of extra navy helicopters from totally different areas to bases within the Baltic Sea area and the border with Russia's Kaliningrad Oblast.

"It is a response to the threats we're coping with, particularly incidents involving us or our allies – the nations of Northern and Baltic Europe," the Polish defence minister stated.

NATO air forces are at the moment participating within the ongoing Baltic Air Policing mission, rotating plane to guard the airspace of Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia, which don’t possess their very own air forces.
