A big-scale challenge is underway in Russian-occupied Crimea to rename faculties in honour of Russian "heroes" of the battle towards Ukraine, referred to by Russia because the "particular navy operation", and the Soviet military, below the initiative titled a hero’s identify for a college.

In Simferopol, the Russian-installed Metropolis Council determined to rename 27 faculties. For instance, College No. 38 was renamed in honour of Vladislav Dorokhin, a so-called ‘hero of the particular navy operation’. Memorial plaques, reminiscence corners, historic shows and museums are being established in faculties, and ‘patriotic golf equipment’ are being organised."
The activist acknowledged that the Russian occupying authorities intention to broaden the challenge to extra faculties, describing it as having "a long-term ideological influence on Crimean schoolchildren, instilling Russian militaristic values, glorifying navy aggression and celebrating individuals within the battle towards Ukraine".
