NEW YORK (AP) Yankees reliever Ian Hamilton and Athletics rookie Jacob Wilson had a bizarre stare down on the finish of the highest of the seventh inning of New York’s 7-0 loss Saturday.
With the Yankees trailing 4-0, Hamilton gave up a two-out single to Denzel Clarke and walked Lawrence Butler. Wilson adopted with a comebacker and Hamilton, after making an underhand toss to first, stared at Wilson. The 23-year-old stared again on the 30-year-old right-hander.
I used to be having a nasty inning, Hamilton stated. A little bit emotional and received the ball, after which sort of appeared in at him after which advised him to run. … He simply wasn’t working out of the field. I used to be upset with the inning after which that was that. Then he requested me what I stated and I simply walked off.”
Wilson is hitting .340, second within the main leagues to New York’s Aaron Decide, who’s at .354.
