The Norwegian authorities introduced its draft state funds for 2026 on Wednesday 15 October, which allocates NOK 70 billion (about €6 billion) for army help to Ukraine.

The Ministry of Defence acknowledged that this was mirrored within the defence funds in two most important measures: the additional strengthening of the armed forces consistent with the long-term plan and the continued substantial army help to Ukraine.
The federal government is proposing to extend defence spending by NOK 4.2 billion (€360 million) in 2026 to implement the long-term plan for the defence sector.
It additionally proposes persevering with emergency help for Ukraine from 2025 underneath the Nansen Assist Programme, with a complete funds of NOK 85 billion (€7.2 billion) in 2026, of which NOK 70 billion (€6 billion) can be allotted for army help.
