With probably the most 1978 premise ever — a sitcom concerning the day-to-day lives of a gaggle of New York Metropolis taxi drivers, their dispatcher, and their mechanic — Taxi is traditional American tv, a jean jacket with industrial breaks. After all, like every sitcom, this comedy collection is a product of its period, so be ready for a sting or two. The present lasted for 5 gritty, no-nonsense seasons, however Tony Danza is down for a reboot, so right here's hoping we would get so as to add a Twenty first-century take to our watch record. —H.L.
