Disney’s live-action “Robin Hood” not transferring ahead, director says

Carlos López Estrada, the director who was set to helm a live-action take of Disney's Robin Hood, says the venture has stalled out.

"It's lifeless, sadly," López Estrada responded to a query concerning the standing of Robin Hood this week throughout an AMA on Reddit. "I say sadly as a result of I truly thought there was one thing actually particular (and unique!) there. Some actually extraordinary music we had discovered for it."

He added, "I hold daydreaming about doing it independently with totally different characters."

Way back to 2020, the film was in improvement for Disney+, per The Hollywood Reporter. Along with López Estrada, the story had a author: Kari Granlund, who penned the 2019 live-action model of Woman and the Tramp. Justin Springer, who additionally labored on the non-animated Dumbo, was on board as a producer.

Leisure Weekly has reached out to reps for López Estrada and to Disney for remark.

López Estrada beforehand directed the 2018 movie Blindspotting and co-directed the animated Disney flick Raya and the Final Dragon, which was launched in 2021.

Disney launched its unique model of Robin Hood in 1973, and it grew to become a part of the corporate's canon of basic films. Disney has commonly produced live-action variations of its basic movies, comparable to Cinderella, The Lion King, Magnificence and the Beast, and Aladdin previously decade or so.
