Katy Perry completely knew what she was doing when she investigated interplanetary journey in her 2011 No. 1 single "E.T."

A social media submit from Blue Origin, the house tech firm Bezos based in 2000, urged followers to "meet the New Shepard NS-31 crew launching this spring," and shared photographs of Perry, King, media producer Kerianne Flynn, civil rights advocate Amanda Nguyen, and journalist Lauren Sánchez — all of whom will even board the craft.

In 2021, Star Trek actor William Shatner traveled to house on a Blue Origin journey, although he later mentioned that the journey left him with a deep feeling of melancholy as a result of it made him notice that "magnificence isn’t on the market, it’s down right here, with all of us," he wrote in a Variety essay.
"It was among the many strongest emotions of grief I’ve ever encountered. The distinction between the vicious coldness of house and the nice and cozy nurturing of Earth beneath stuffed me with overwhelming disappointment," the 93-year-old wrote.
