    Manchester United midfielder Zachary Baumann receives Ukrainian passport

    Zakhar Baumann, a 17-year-old Manchester United midfielder, has become a citizen of Ukraine. The son of immigrants from Kolomyia has 32 matches for MU and is ready to represent Ukraine on the international stage.

    Zakhar Baumann, a 17-year-old midfielder of Manchester United of Ukrainian descent, has received a passport of a citizen of Ukraine. This was reported by the Ukrainian Football Association, according to UNN.

    "I am very happy to have finally become a citizen of Ukraine and now I will be able to represent my country on the international stage. There is excitement, but it is positive because I feel the support of many people. I can't wait to meet the team. And forward to our victory. And not only on the football field," the player commented.

    Zakhar Baumann is the son of immigrants from Kolomyia. Born in Bolton on January 2, 2007, he played football at the Manchester United academy. He plays as a central midfielder. He signed a professional contract with MU on July 1, 2023. In the 2023/2024 season, playing for Manchester United U18, he played 18 matches for the team, scoring one goal in a home match against Leeds United (4: 0).

    Last season he also played 6 games for Manchester United U21, including a goal against Derby County.

    In the current U18 Premier League campaign, Baumann has played 6 games, scoring one goal against Blackburn and an assist against Middlesbrough.

    He also played one game in the UEFA Youth Champions League for Manchester United U19, where he made an assist.

    In total, Baumann has played 32 games for MU, scoring 3 goals and assisting 3. The footballer also has the trophy of the winner of the English Premier League Under-18 season 2023/2024.
