German schools received information about bomb threats

12 schools in different German cities received emails with bomb threats. Police are checking the premises of the schools.

Schools across Germany have received bomb threats. The report apparently turned out to be false, writes UNN with reference to BILD.

    Details

In Germany, at least 12 schools received bomb threats. According to the Lower Saxony Criminal Police Department (LKA), schools in Hanover, Erfurt, and Leipzig were affected by the threats. In the city of Stuhr near Bremen, the occupation was canceled due to the threat of occupation.

Currently, the Bremen police, with the help of trained dogs, are inspecting all the premises of the Lisa Meitner School. Entrance to the building of this school was strictly prohibited until the start of classes.

It looks like a nationwide campaign

    – said the LKA representative.

However, according to various police agencies, all the threats were sent via e-mail. Therefore, to coordinate the search for the sender, criminal police offices have established a network of cooperation, said a representative of the Hanover police.

In Erfurt, the capital of the German state of Thuringia, threats were sent to five schools. Also, according to police, some messages with the same threatening content were found in mailboxes late on Sunday evening.

Overnight police searches of our buildings did not reveal anything suspicious or disturbing, and the threat itself poses no real danger. The Ratsgymnasium gymnasium, according to the police, can start classes on Monday without restrictions

  • Many in Europe woken up by Putin’s aggression, but not out of bed yet – EU High Representative

Josep Borrell, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs, who is stepping down from his position, has stated that Europe still needs to make greater efforts to support Ukraine in its war against Russia and to strengthen its own defence capabilities.

Source: European Pravda, citing Borrell’s blog post on 25 November

Details: Borrell noted that Europeans have failed to provide Ukraine with sufficient resources to defend against constant air attacks on its civilian and energy infrastructure. Additionally, they have not given Ukraine enough support, particularly ammunition, to prevent the Russian army from advancing in Donbas – let alone to regain lost territories.

Quote: "Many have been saying over and over again since February 2022 that Russia’s aggression against Ukraine was a wake-up call for Europe. But as political scientist Ivan Krastev rightly said a few weeks ago, in a debate in which I took part, there is a difference between being awake and getting out of bed to act. And it seems that many in Europe have certainly been woken up by Vladimir Putin’s aggression against Ukraine, but have not yet really got out of bed."

He emphasised that it is particularly necessary to act now, given that the United States’ commitment not only to Ukraine but also to Europe’s security as a whole has become more uncertain following the reelection of Donald Trump.

"We have no choice: it is imperative that we become capable of ensuring our own security. Our well-being and future cannot continue to depend on the mood of US voters in the Midwest every four years," Borrell stated.

    Background:

    • Borrell recently urged EU countries to revisit his proposal to establish a coordination structure in Kyiv for training Ukrainian military personnel.
    • He also proposed directing a significant portion of the second tranche of revenues from frozen Russian assets toward Ukraine’s defence industry.

Chairman of the NATO Military Committee reveals changes in the Russian army

The chairman of the NATO Military Committee said that the Russian army has become larger but has lost quality compared to 2022.

Russia's ground forces are now larger than they were during Moscow's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, but their quality has declined since then, Admiral Rob Bauer, chairman of NATO's Military Committee, said on Monday. This was reported by UNN with reference to Reuters.

"The quality of this force has declined," said Admiral Rob Bauer, pointing to the state of equipment and the level of training of Russian soldiers.

"Right now, the Russians do not pose the same threat as in February 2022, so we have some time to prepare," he said, adding that this means increasing investment in the defense industry.

    Addendum

The Ukrainian armed forces are holding back 50,000 Russian troops in the Kursk region , which, thanks to the Kursk operation, cannot be sent to other areas of Russia's attacks on Ukraine.

UK imposes sanctions on 30 ships of Russia’s shadow fleet

The UK government has announced the introduction of what it described as the largest sanctions package, targeting 30 ships from Russia's shadow fleet.

Source: a report by the UK government, as reported by European Pravda

On Monday, the UK imposed sanctions on 30 ships from Russia’s shadow fleet, which are responsible for transporting oil and oil products worth billions of pounds over the past year.

Quote: "With half of the ships targeted today transporting more than $4.3bn worth of oil and oil products like gasoline in the last year alone, today is the largest UK package of its kind," the British government explained.

This move, they added, will further limit the Kremlin's ability to fund its illegal war in Ukraine and its global malicious activities. It will also increase the total number of oil tankers sanctioned by the UK to 73, more than any other country.

The announcement came as UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy used a G7 foreign ministers’ meeting in Italy to urge other nations to continue exerting pressure on Russia's military apparatus, alongside efforts to strengthen military and financial support for Ukraine.

Oil revenues are a key source of funding for Russia's illegal war in Ukraine.

"Russia’s oil revenues are fuelling the fires of war and destruction in Ukraine. I will work with our G7 partners and beyond to exert relentless pressure on the Kremlin, disrupt the flow of money into its war chest, erode its military machine, and constrain its malign behaviour worldwide," Lammy said.

The official added that UK sanctions are working, with Russia becoming increasingly reliant on countries like North Korea and Iran for military supplies, and even resorting to sending North Korean troops to support its illegal invasion.

    Background:

    • Media reports indicate that the next European Union sanctions package against Russia will target the shadow fleet used to circumvent Western oil sanctions.
    • The European Parliament recently called for tougher sanctions against Russia's shadow fleet.
