    A courtroom in Russia has sentenced Ukrainian powerlifting champion Yuliia Lemeshchenko, who holds a Russian passport, to 19 years in jail for alleged involvement in blowing up an influence transmission line and plotting to assassinate a colonel within the Russian Armed Forces.

    Particulars: The courtroom in Moscow delivered the decision towards 42-year-old Yuliia Lemeshchenko, accusing her of treason, terrorism coaching, sabotage, and getting ready a terrorist assault.

    Meduza says that Yuliia moved from the Russian metropolis of Voronezh to Kharkiv in 2014.

    In Ukraine, she took up powerlifting, turning into nationwide champion in 2021.
