US President Donald Trump has introduced that from 1 February, Washington will impose tariffs on various nations that oppose his stance on Greenland.

Particulars: Denmark, Norway, Sweden, France, Germany, the UK, the Netherlands and Finland will likely be topic to a ten% tariff on any and all items exported to the US from 1 February 2026.
From 1 June 2026, the tariff will likely be elevated to 25%, he added.
Quote from Trump: "This Tariff will likely be due and payable till such time as a Deal is reached for the Full and Whole buy of Greenland… America of America is instantly open to negotiation with Denmark and/or any of those International locations which have put a lot in danger, regardless of all that we’ve got completed for them, together with most safety, over so many a long time."
Particulars: Trump said that the US has "subsidised Denmark, and the entire International locations of the European Union, and others, for a few years by not charging them Tariffs, or every other types of remuneration".
