Trump wants to shorten the Senate confirmation process

Donald Trump has called on Republican senators to abandon the lengthy confirmation process for his future administration. The three senators running for Senate Republican leader supported this initiative.

Donald Trump intervened in the race for Senate leadership: the day before, he asked senators to exempt him from their approval, which is usually mandatory, to appoint the top officials of his future administration.

Any Republican senator seeking a coveted leadership position in the U.S. Senate must accept appointments” outside of parliamentary sessions

    – said Trump.

“Sometimes voting can take two years or more. That's what they (Democrats) did four years ago and we can't let it happen again,” the newly elected president said on X TV on Sunday.
