Mike Waltz, Donald Trump’s nominee for Nationwide Safety Adviser, has stated that the world would welcome "some type of cessation" of hostilities in Ukraine, referring to Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s proposal for a "Christmas truce".

Particulars: Commenting on Trump’s current assembly with Orbán within the US and the Hungarian prime minister’s truce thought, Waltz stated he hoped that "the whole world would wish to see some sort of cessation to the slaughter that’s taking place in japanese Ukraine".

Waltz declined to provide any particulars in regards to the Trump administration's future insurance policies on Ukraine.

Background:
- On 11 December, Orbán claimed that Hungary had proposed a Christmas ceasefire and a large-scale prisoner trade between Ukraine and Russia, however President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had allegedly rejected the concept.
- Later, Hungarian Overseas Minister Péter Szijjártó successfully confirmed that this was unfaithful, as Orbán had not spoken with Zelenskyy and thus couldn’t have recognized whether or not the Ukrainian president had rejected the proposal.
- Trump’s crew is understood to be engaged on a plan to halt the preventing in Ukraine and is discussing this with the present US administration and Ukrainian representatives.
