Ukrainian schoolchildren's science project sent into space by SpaceX rocket

A project of Ukrainian schoolchildren to study hydrogels was launched to the ISS by a SpaceX-31 rocket from Cape Canaveral. This is the third Ukrainian school experiment to be launched into space as part of the SSEP program.

The project of the pupils of the Minor Academy of Sciences is in space. It was delivered by a SpaceX-31 rocket, UNN reports with reference to the Ministry of Education and Science.

    Details

On November 4, a SpaceX-31 rocket was launched from Cape Canaveral, Florida (USA).

On board was an experimental sample of the winners of the All-Ukrainian competition of school space experiments SSEP – the team of Skole Secondary School No. 2 named after Stefania Vitruk with the support of School To Go.

The team's experiment is titled "Preparation of biomedical hydrogels in microgravity.

SSEP is a unique comprehensive program for the development of science and STEAM education aimed at raising a new generation of scientists and inventors. The winners of the SSEP competition have the opportunity to send real mini-laboratories for microgravity research to the ISS on the SpaceX Dragon spacecraft. This is the third time that a project of the students of the Junior Academy of Sciences has gone into space.

The Ukrainian team joined the 18th SSEP mission with the support of the Nova Ukraine Charitable Foundation.
