
U.S. President Donald Trump on Feb. 13 described latest talks with President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin "nice" and expressed optimism about ending the warfare.
"Nice talks with Russia and Ukraine yesterday. Good risk of ending that horrible, very bloody warfare," Trump wrote on Reality Social.
On Feb. 12, Trump held separate calls with Zelensky and Putin, later claiming each leaders "wish to cease the hundreds of thousands of deaths going down within the Warfare with Russia/Ukraine."
Zelensky and Trump agreed to start working towards ending the warfare, in line with Andriy Yermak, head of Ukraine's Presidential Workplace.
Trump additionally introduced that he and Putin would maintain their first in-person assembly in Saudi Arabia, although the extent of Ukraine's involvement within the talks stays unclear.
The U.S. president mentioned he had instructed a staff led by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, CIA Director John Ratcliffe, and Nationwide Safety Advisor Michael Waltz to supervise negotiations.
