After an argument between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and US President Donald Trump within the White Home, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz referred to as incoming Chancellor Friedrich Merz on Friday evening.

On Sunday, 2 March, Scholz is travelling to London on the invitation of UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, who’s convening a summit of European leaders on Ukraine and European safety.

Background:

• Earlier this week, Starmer visited US President Donald Trump on the White Home. Upon his return, he invited quite a few EU heads of state and authorities to London on 2 March to coordinate the longer term course of Europeans on Ukraine.
• Friedrich Merz won’t accompany Scholz on Sunday.
• On 28 February, each Scholz and Merz expressed help for Ukraine following the argument.
