Ufimsky oil refinery 1,400km inside Russia catches fireplace, native authorities report

A big fireplace broke out in a single day on the Ufimsky oil refinery within the Russian metropolis of Ufa some 1,400 kilometers inside Russia, native authorities reported on March 3.

Regional emergency providers stated the fireplace had been extinguished, including: "No extra of dangerous substances has been recorded close to the plant."

No trigger was given however Ukrainian forces have repeatedly launched a collection of drone strikes aimed toward damaging Russia's oil business starting within the spring of 2024.

Russian Telegram channels reported an explosion on the refinery earlier than the fireplace broke out. The Kyiv Impartial couldn’t confirm the reviews.

Ukraine considers Russian oil amenities to be legitimate army targets, as fossil gas earnings provide Moscow's battle operations.

Kyiv has not commented on the fireplace.

The refinery, owned by Bashneft, has a processing capability of 168,000 barrels per day, with its oil provide primarily coming from Bashkiria and western Siberia.

It’s certainly one of Russia’s largest oil refineries. Ufa, the capital of Russia's Bashkortostan Republic, lies 1,520 km east of Moscow and 550 km north of Kazakhstan's border.
