Russian army suffers record losses in November, UK intelligence reports

    Published on

Defence Intelligence of the United Kingdom reports that the daily average losses of the Russians in Ukraine, both killed and wounded, hit a new record high in November.

Source: UK Defence Intelligence review dated 5 December, as reported by European Pravda

A report citing data from Ukraine's General Staff revealed that in November, Russian occupation forces suffered an average daily loss of 1,523 personnel, both killed and wounded.

Quote: "This is the third straight month that Russian Forces have sustained new war high average daily losses," the report stated.

Russia recorded its highest single-day losses since the invasion began, with 2,030 casualties – surpassing the 2,000 mark for the first time – on 28 November.

November also became the fifth consecutive month of increasing overall monthly losses, with a total of 45,680 Russian troops lost, according to UK intelligence.

The report attributes the high casualty rate to the relentless pace of Russian offensives and operations.

Russian forces are intensifying pressure along several critical fronts, aiming to push Ukrainian troops back in the vicinities of Kursk, Kupiansk, Toretsk, Pokrovsk, and Velyka Novosilka.

Quote: "Russia's casualty rate will likely continue to average above 1,000 a day in December 2024 despite the onset of winter, with continued dismounted infantry attacks on multiple axes," the report concluded.

    Background:

    • On 21 October, UK Defence Secretary John Healey described the situation on the battlefield in Ukraine as difficult, noting that the front line is currently "less stable than at any time since the early days of the full-scale Russian invasion" in February 2022.
    • Recently, UK intelligence highlighted the extensive use of unmanned aerial vehicles as a key factor that has changed the nature of Russia's war against Ukraine.
