OpenAI is integrating its software into Anduril's anti-drone systems that detect and shoot down drones. This is the first time OpenAI has partnered with a defense contractor. Previously, OpenAI was banned from “military and combat” use of its technology, but in early 2024, the company softened its stance on military use by changing its terms of service to lift the ban.
