Zelenskyy promotes Azov commander Prokopenko to brigadier normal

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has awarded the rank of brigadier normal to Denys "Redis" Prokopenko, Commander of the First Corps Azov of the Nationwide Guard of Ukraine.

Quote: "Colonel Denys Hennadiiovych Prokopenko, commander of the First Corps Azov of the Nationwide Guard of Ukraine, shall obtain the navy rank of brigadier normal."

Background:

• The Nationwide Guard of Ukraine has created two corps, headed by Colonel Denys "Redis" Prokopenko, Commander of the twelfth Particular Function Brigade Azov, and Colonel Ihor "Kornet" Obolenskyi, Commander of the thirteenth Operational Brigade Khartia.
• In 2025, Denys Prokopenko was included within the UP100 listing of Ukrainians shaping Ukraine's independence and future.
