Hungarian Overseas Minister Peter Szijjártó confirmed that Hungary could again Western sanctions towards Russia if Donald Trump employs them to penalize Russian chief Vladimir Putin for the Kremlin’s unwillingness to peacefully resolve the conflict in Ukraine. The minister, who beforehand known as EU sanctions towards Russia “ridiculous” and ineffective, acknowledged that Budapest’s stance could shift.
