David Spade obtained so sick throughout “SNL” that NBC ready rerun to air as an alternative: ‘I am laying on the ground sweating’

David Spade is recalling the gnarly sickness that hit him when he was set to host Saturday Night Live.

The Tommy Boy star mentioned the final time he hosted the sketch comedy present in March 2005, he was so sick that the episode was practically canceled.

"I obtained sick throughout costume [rehearsal], the worst f—ing anxiety-riddled time," Spade revealed on the most recent episode of his podcast Fly on the Wall. "In the course of a sketch, they go, 'Come on, come on,' and I stood up. I used to be in a UPS outfit and I am going, [sighs], after which I sat again down on the set."

The crew continued urging Spade to proceed with the rehearsal. "They go, 'Come on,' and the band's like, 'Ba ba ba,' 'You bought 90s seconds!' and I am going, 'Ugh, I don't really feel good,'" he mentioned. "After which I laid down on the ground, and everybody's like, 'What the f— is occurring?'"

Spade, who was a solid member on SNL from 1990 to 1996, grew to become even sicker as soon as rehearsal absolutely paused, which prompted the crew to counsel pulling the plug on the episode altogether.

"They walked me to the dressing room, put me within the lavatory, I lay on the ground, and the viewers continues to be there," he mentioned.
