What Occurs at Evening is slated to be Scorsese's twenty seventh function movie, and his first since 2023's Academy Award-nominated drama Killers of the Flower Moon. That movie represented Scorsese's first collaboration with Apple, after he experimented with Netflix on 2019's The Irishman and teamed with Paramount on the 4 previous options.

Killers of the Flower Moon was the sixth function Scorsese and DiCaprio have collaborated on, with their first being 2002's Gangs of New York.

Whereas Scorsese hasn't directed Lawrence in a movie but, he did produce her upcoming movie Die, My Love, which premiered at Cannes in Could and is slated to hit theaters in November.

Cameron's What Occurs at Evening is a "ghost story" of a novel that follows "an unnamed American couple [that] travels to an odd, snowy European metropolis to undertake a child.
