SAN DIEGO (AP) San Diego Padres right-hander Dylan Stop was hit behind the top by a one-hopper by Francisco Lindor of the New York Mets on Monday evening and remained within the sport.
The scary second occurred with one out within the third inning. Because the ball caromed into foul territory for a double, Stop sat on the mound along with his proper hand on his head.
Stop was checked by trainers, supervisor Mike Shildt and pitching coach Ruben Niebla. After throwing some warmup pitches, he stayed within the sport.
Stop struck out Juan Soto and Mets supervisor Carlos Mendoza was ejected for arguing. Stop then struck out Pete Alonso.
The Mets led 1-0 on the time.
