The Baltimore Ravens are releasing security C.J. Gardner-Johnson per week after signing him to their follow squad.
Gardner-Johnson’s agent Kevin Conner stated the Ravens and the veteran defensive again got here to “an amicable mutual choice.”
Gardner-Johnson was added to the Ravens follow squad on Oct. 7, however the Ravens then acquired security Alohi Gilman later that day in a commerce with the Los Angeles Chargers. In Sunday’s loss to the Los Angeles Rams, the Ravens began Gilman, who made seven tackles, and didn’t elevate Gardner-Johnson from the follow squad.
“After the Ravens traded for a security, we have been on the lookout for a clearer path to play,” Conner informed Schefter.
It’s the second time this season Gardner-Johnson has been launched. The Houston Texans launched him late final month after simply three video games.
Gardner-Johnson, 27, has 18 interceptions and 51 passes defended in his seven NFL seasons. He had six interceptions final season for the Philadelphia Eagles of their march to the Tremendous Bowl title.
The Ravens (1-5) rank final within the league in factors allowed per recreation (32.3) as they enter their bye week.
