Russia can deploy Oniks and Zirkon missiles in the Caspian Sea, equipping the carriers with unitary launchers.

This was stated by Navy spokesman Dmytro Pletenchuk during a briefing, UNN reports .

There are also cruise missile carriers in the Caspian Sea. It is not the only one there. And, by the way, according to information that is still being verified, there are carriers there that have unitary launchers

— Pletenchuk says.

He emphasizes that, unlike the Azov-Black Sea region, they have eight carriers that can launch only Kalibrs.

In other words, they already have unitary ones on some other projects that can theoretically launch Onyxes and Zircons. And the Caspian Flotilla may have such samples. They have at least a few cruise missile carriers in the Caspian Sea. Also, the technical characteristics allow, in principle, to use them from that water area, but we have no confirmed cases of this

— The Navy spokesman added.

Recall

Due to the strengthening of Ukrainian air defense , since the beginning of the war, the effectiveness of Kalibr missiles has significantly decreased for Russia, but these missiles remain a dangerous weapon.
