Russia launched a ballistic missile assault on Chernihiv on Jan. 3, killing one individual and injuring 4 others, Chernihiv Oblast Governor Vyacheslav Chaus stated.
The assault focused a residential space on the outskirts of Chernihiv, inflicting important harm to a number of condo buildings, Chaus stated.
Ukraine's Air Pressure had warned of the incoming ballistic assault earlier within the day. Search and rescue operations are ongoing.
Chernihiv Oblast, located on Ukraine's northern border with Russia, was partially occupied in the course of the early levels of Russia's full-scale invasion in February 2022.
Though Russian forces withdrew from the area in April 2022, Chernihiv stays beneath near-daily assault as a result of its proximity to the border.
