Azerbaijan could think about lifting its embargo on supplying weapons to Ukraine if Russia continues to strike Ukraine’s fuel infrastructure by which Azerbaijani fuel flows.

Particulars: On Sunday 10 August, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a cellphone name throughout which they mentioned Russian strikes on Ukraine’s fuel infrastructure carrying Azerbaijani fuel and an assault on a SOCAR oil depot in Odesa.
The 2 leaders stated they have been outraged by the actions of the Russian armed forces.
Caliber.Az, citing dependable sources, stories that if Russia continues its aggressive coverage in the direction of Azerbaijan’s pursuits, Baku will start contemplating lifting its embargo on supplying Ukraine with weapons from its arsenal.
Russia’s armed forces have begun systematically concentrating on Azerbaijani power services situated in Ukraine. This case is pushing Baku to take retaliatory measures.
Background:
- On the evening of 7-8 August 2025, Russian forces attacked an oil depot belonging to the Azerbaijani firm SOCAR in Odesa Oblast, Ukraine.
- Russia launched 5 Shahed strike drones on the SOCAR oil depot, inflicting a hearth and damaging a diesel pipeline. 4 firm workers sustained severe accidents.
- This was the second assault in current weeks on services in Ukraine linked to Azerbaijan. Earlier, the Russians focused a fuel distribution station close to Orlivka, a key component of the Trans-Balkan Gasoline Pipeline, which started transporting Azerbaijani fuel to Ukraine on 28 June.
