Biden administration plans to give Ukraine more than $6 billion in military aid before Trump's inauguration

The Biden administration plans to urgently transfer the balance of military aid to Ukraine worth more than $6 billion. The Pentagon is trying to realize all the allocated funds before the possible arrival of Trump, who may limit support.

Joe Biden's administration is preparing to allocate the balance of more than $6 billion in aid to Ukraine, trying to use the funds before the end of the presidential term. This was reported by Politico, according to UNN.

The plan provides for the maximum speed of the transfer of weapons and equipment, as President-elect Donald Trump is expected to reduce the amount of support.

The urgent transfer of aid has become a priority because the new president, known for his criticism of the high costs of supporting Ukraine, may suspend or limit the flow of military aid altogether. However, it is proving difficult to deliver quickly: many of the types of equipment approved for transfer usually arrive within a few months of the announcement of an aid package. This means that only a portion of the equipment may arrive in Ukraine in time.

The Pentagon is ready to continue its support within the already approved budget, but the main obstacle is the limited resources that can be immediately transferred. The assistance now consists of two components: $4.3 billion for in-service equipment and $2.1 billion for the purchase of weapons from US defense companies. In September, Biden instructed the military to ensure that all funds allocated to Ukraine are implemented before the end of his term.
