The European Council has appointed a new composition of the European Commission for the period from December 2024 to October 2029. Ursula von der Leyen remains president, while Kaya Callas will become supreme representative for Foreign Affairs.
The European Council has appointed a new composition of the European Commission – the second under President Ursula von der Leyen, according to the website of the European Institute, writes UNN.

"The European Council today, according to a written procedure, appointed the European Commission for the period from December 1, 2024 to October 31, 2029. The president of the European Commission will be Ursula von der Leyen (Germany), and the Union's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and security policy will be Kaya Kallas (Estonia)," the European Council said.
