Former deputy PM Chernyshov arrested in corruption probe, bail set at US$1.2m

The Excessive Anti-Corruption Courtroom of Ukraine has ordered the arrest of Oleksii Chernyshov, previously deputy prime minister, minister for communities and territories, head of Naftogaz Ukraine and head of Kyiv Oblast State Administration, setting bail at UAH 51 million (US$1.2 million).

Particulars: Chernyshov has been remanded in custody for 60 days, till 16 January, with bail set at UAH 51.6 million (US$ 1.2 million).

Background:
