Hungarian Overseas Minister Péter Szijjártó, following Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, has declared that Budapest will block the subsequent extension of EU sanctions in opposition to Russia except Ukraine "refrains from measures that hurt Hungary’s power safety".

- Earlier, Viktor Orbán claimed that Hungary had acquired a "assure" from the EU on restoring fuel transit by Ukraine and warned that sanctions can be blocked if this assure was not fulfilled.
