The Israel Defense Forces believes that after the weakening of Iranian proxy groups in the Middle East and the dramatic fall of Bashar al-Assad's regime in Syria, there is an opportunity to strike Iran's nuclear facilities. Military officials said this on Thursday, reports UNN citing Times of Israel.

According to the publication, the Israeli Air Force continues to increase its readiness and training for such potential strikes against Iran.

The Israel Defense Forces also believes that Iran — isolated after the fall of the Assad regime and the weakening of its main proxy group Hezbollah in Lebanon — could continue its nuclear program and develop a bomb in an attempt to replace its deterrence.
