Ukraine's college hockey crew has pulled off a sensational victory over Czechia within the quarterfinals of the 2025 Winter Universiade, held on the Pinerolo Ice Palace in Italy.

Within the Universiade semifinals, Ukraine's crew will face the winner of the Slovakia-Kazakhstan match. Moreover, america will compete with the winner of the Canada-Japan match for a spot within the ultimate.
Notably, Ukraine has received two hockey medals on the Universiade: gold in 1999 and bronze in 2001.
The semifinals are deliberate for 21 January, with the gold and bronze medal matches happening on 22 January.
