Ukrainian Kraken unit killed Sergei Melnikov, the chief of employees of Russia's Storm Ossetia battalion, and his driver within the occupied a part of Zaporizhzhia Oblast in late December, Ukraine's army intelligence (HUR) reported on Jan. 5.
The Ukrainian army had deliberate the ambush utilizing FPV drones prematurely, having obtained particulars of Melnikov's route and schedule, HUR stated.
Melnikov and his driver had been touring alongside the Vasylivka-Tokmak freeway on Dec. 29, when the latter drove off the highway resulting from a drone assault, in keeping with the company.
"Then the army intelligence officers hit the windshield with a kamikaze drone," HUR claimed, sharing footage displaying the assault.

Storm Ossetia is a Russian assault unit inside the 429th Motorized Rifle Regiment of the Russian Armed Forces. It was fashioned in Russia's Republic of North Ossetia-Alania in 2022 to participate in Moscow's all-out struggle in opposition to Ukraine.
