    Ukraine receives 5,000 more Starlink terminals from Poland, minister says

    Ukraine has acquired 5,000 further Starlink terminals from Poland to assist important infrastructure and keep communications in front-line cities, Digital Transformation Minister Mykhailo Fedorov introduced on April 3.

    "Starlinks will assist residents of the front-line territories to remain in contact: name family members, name emergency providers, learn the information. As a result of assaults and destruction of base stations within the de-occupied territories, common communication is unavailable," Fedorov wrote on Fb.

    Starlink, developed by SpaceX, is a satellite-based web system that gives high-speed connectivity, significantly in distant and underserved areas.

    Based on Fedorov, Ukraine has acquired over 50,000 Starlink terminals because the begin of Russia's full-scale invasion in 2022 via cooperation between the Digital Transformation Ministry, worldwide companions, and donors.

    Poland has been the biggest single provider, offering round 29,500 terminals.

    "We’re grateful to the Deputy Prime Minister and Digitalization Minister of Poland Krzysztof Gawkowski and the Polish authorities for his or her contribution to Ukrainian sustainability," Fedorov mentioned.

    Considerations over Ukraine's continued entry to Starlink have grown after Reuters reported in February that the U.S. threatened to chop the service except Kyiv agreed to a important minerals deal.

    Tech billionaire and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk denied these claims, and on March 9, claimed that slicing Ukraine off from Starlink would trigger the nation's total entrance line to break down.

    The dispute escalated after a tense assembly between U.S. President Donald Trump and President Volodymyr Zelensky on Feb. 28, which led to a brief halt in U.S. army support and intelligence sharing as Washington sought to push Kyiv towards peace talks with Moscow.

    Amid rising uncertainty, Ukrainian officers have been exploring alternate options to Starlink. French satellite tv for pc operator Eutelsat Communications is in talks with the EU to probably substitute the U.S.-based system in Ukraine.
